Transcending Boundaries

The exhibit was composed of three immersive rooms where flowers, water and other elements grew on the walls and floor. It was really an "enchanting" experience, the music and the colours -along with the blurriness of the pixels- made it all kind of "fairy-like". We got to interact with with the projections as well. Waving your hand made the butterflies fly away, sitting on the floor made flowers grow and standing in the way of water made it deviate. I think that was an important part of this art work and it would not have been so interesting without it. One of the room was quite boring -because there was only one screen with waves- but the other two were fascinating.

Her exhibit at the Tate Britain is called Wot U :-) about?

I got in the room because I was attracted by the total weirdness of the movie that was playing in the background. The characters looked both really colourful and disgusting at the same time. The acting was really crazy, in accordance with the decors and the objects. The paintings displayed on the walls around the projection were just as impressive. They looked a bit like Renaissance paintings but mixed with Japanese wtf style and a lot of drugs. At first I couldn't tell if I liked it or not but it became clear that I was complete fascinated with this work. They were satirical and visual unforgettable.

I really like this artist's work because it was quite surreal. The atmosphere it has is very original and I was really curious as to why the artist painted sheep. It turns out it's because his father was a shepherd. I also like the pastel colours he used because they don't give a sense of childishness or softness. They are balanced by the features and the outlines of the sheep and character.

The Deluge

From Dexter Dalwood.

I like the mix between styles in one painting. The image is very eery and surreal, which is something I'm often attracted to. The atmosphere, ominous despite the "friendly" looking pink waves. I really wish I need why the artist chose to add a ribbon to the drawing and what the signification of it is.

This painting is really interesting to me because it looks a bit like cubism but in a modern way. I really like the character and the patterns on each elements. This gave me an idea for a style of drawing that I continued using throughout this project.
